I am a massage therapist with the good fortune to be from Michigan who has lived in San Jose, California, Chennai, Tamil Nadu (India) who now, calls Round Rock, Texas home.
Of all the careers I could have selected, massage was the one that selected me. As a child I experienced the power of touch, through massaging my grandmother, Maudie. She had extreme lymphedema which made her feel trapped in her body and in constant pain. Wanting to ease her pain, I would take baby oil, petroleum jelly or lotion and rub it all over her legs. At the age of five I did not have the best technique, but I knew my touch made her smile and feel better. As I grew older I never forgot that time with my Grand Ma Maudie, and I knew one day I would become a professional massage therapist. So, after completing college and several years in the corporate world, with the support of my husband John and our families, I pursued my dream of learning the healing art of massage therapy.
My massage education was earned through the 2-year (1002 hour) Massage Therapy program at DeAnza Community College in Cupertino California, the School of Shiatsu and Massage in Middletown CA and TMC School of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Formerly, I held the post of VP of Education for the Silicon Valley and North Austin Regional Coordinator of the American Massage Therapy Association (the AMTA). In addition, I hold a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Wayne State University.
I strive to ensure complete comfort, while working to soothe tired aching muscles, reduce muscle spasms and cramping, improve muscle function and range of motion. Massage is also a great way to experience improved sleep, flexibility, reduce swelling and headache pain. Using a variety of techniques, including focused breathing, deep tissue work, sports massage, facilitated stretching, as well as traditional Thai massage, I create sessions specific to each clients desired outcome,
When I am not in the massage room, I can be found practicing Yoga, traveling and cooking.
Have table, will travel.
